The owner's manual states "10.1" pints capacity which includes the 10 ounces of friction modifier. This is also the capacity posted in the Geno's Garage tech section. The owner's manual also states to only fill to a level "3/4 inch below" fill plug hole.

So the front takes right at a quart. My D44 rear took right at 2 quarts, and since the D35 has a smaller pumpkin, then Jerry is right when he said the D35 takes just under 2 quarts. You should do fine buying 3 quarts instead of 4, unless you just want some extra lying around in case you have a leak in the future.
